Im fairly new to guild wars, so somethings i suggest may already be in affect or whatever. Well, as cool as armor and weapons already look with dyes, why not have other cool effects? now, i dont mean super rare takes forever to find kind of thing, just something common. Say an elemantilist wants to show he focus's on fire attacks. How about being able to add something to his weapon to show fire, like say a a sword that is on fire?(note: im not suggesting it do fire damage, it could sure if anyone wanted that) i just think it would look, ya know give the allusion of power. Like in other mmo's, anyone who frequents the game could identify a "uber" weapon/armor by its look, so it would give a weapon/armor an "uber" feel but without the power. anyone else wanna see cool weapon(again, cosmetic affects but not physical affects that gives the weapon more power)

Playing before you suggest something ups the chance of people taking it seriously. As it happens, there are weapons with effects such as you describe. They can even do fire damage. As for identifying "uber" items I don't think that will be an issue - it's not like some games with "unique" uber items - they want it to be less item dependent than many other games for an even footing in PvP. In addition, there is no illusion of power with the weapons, as many very weak weapons have fiery nimbus effects and the like.
